Comparative analysis of bioactive compounds and antioxidant capacity of selected plants as phytogenic feed additives for poultry nutrition

Abstract The paper investigated the phytochemical content and antioxidant activity of poplar buds ( Populus nigra L .), turmeric Curcuma longa ) ginger Zingiber officinale extracts. Proximate composition, total polyphenols, ß-carotene, vitamin E, minerals capacity were tested for all selected plants. proximate analysis plants showed that had a higher crude protein, fat fiber than ginger. extract significantly polyphenols (87.20 mg gallic acid/g) E (210.53 μg/g) in polyphenol was found to be order: buds>turmeric> beta carotene (2.99 (1.67 μg/g). Regarding mineral content, highest iron copper; manganese zinc. Moreover, possessed both on C calibration curve, evidencing rich such antioxidants. Therefore, based valuable nutritional composition confirmed through this study, buds, can recommended as phytogenic feed additives poultry nutrition.
